Prioritise – Learn To Differentiate Between Urgent And Just Important

What's the best use of my time right now?

Well helloooo cyberspace!

‘Prioritise – learn to differentiate between urgent and just important’

Do I really need to go on?

Ok, you asked for it.

So the other day I was having one of those frantic moments when everything happens at the same time and you go into headless chicken mode:

  1. The postman knocked the door
  2. Breakfast had just been put down
  3. Owner’s shoes were being put on
  4. Ear needed scratching
  5. Instinct told me I needed to pay a visit

Well all hell broke out as I tried to do everything at once… I put a paw full of food in my ear, and then darted towards the shoes, narrowly missing one of them as it was swiped in my direction.

I then swerved expertly like ‘The Stig’ into the hall just as the door was answered and promptly used the postman in a way no postman deserves to be used.

I then gave the most puppy dog eyes I have ever had to adopt : (

So I realise the difference between urgent and important is key and I now have a simple question I ask myself :

What’s the best use of my time right now?

It’s working so far and I am pleased to say I haven’t needed to grovel anywhere near as badly since I’ve used this ethos.

Keep on learning!
